Sunday night the CBS network will show their special program “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This special program was filmed after a 4 month examination into the online poker business and in particular a deceitful scandal concerning the online poker site Absolute Poker.
This Texas Hold’em poker website was investigated after some of the Texas Hold’em players on the page alleged that some person was unjustly winning a great amount of poker chips. Todd Witteles was a crucial witness in this inquiry, according to Witteles; he was losing incredibly large amounts of poker hands to the very same poker player. Witteles says that this man was raising against incredibly good cards, anyone would have presumed he was basically giving his money to the other players, but he was unbelievably winning quite often.
Witteles was correct with his statements, much later it was shown that a player on the inside was able to see any poker player’s poker hole cards. At first look, Absolute Poker said that there were no issues with the page or the poker player. After numerous players showed up with claims, the poker webpage looked deeper into the matter and discovered the cheater.
By Jan. of 2008, the gaming commission discovered what the poker players and the Texas Hold’em room had suspected all along. The investigation proved that, there was a staff member who had hacked the Texas Hold’em poker page’s protection and was competing unlawfully for approximately six weeks. The examination verified that the Texas Hold’em poker page had not gained from the illegal transactions by any means, and was in no way, shape or form engaged in the activities.
These illegal activities are further confirmation that there must be more guidelines regarding Texas Hold’em poker sites. The US government should license and control the internet Texas Hold’em industry to defend these honest clients. These rules would also control the entry to these webpages by kids, which is turning into another fear these days.
