Full Tilt Poker Looking to Win Guinness Record for Largest Poker Tourney

Posted under Poker & full tilt poker & poker tournament

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

Full Tilt releases new “Durrrr Challenge” Info page

Posted under Poker & full tilt poker & online poker & poker tournament

Full Tilt Poker has recently unveiled an original informative site covering all the facts of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an intense online heads up tourney highlighting some of the best big money poker players challenging the online poker phenomenon Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The innovative new section offers internet poker players and fanatics the chance to follow this amazing durrrr challenge and check out timely statistical updates. With this fresh “durrrr Challenge” portal poker players can view all the poker action and review each poker hand played during the poker challenge, and check out tons of statistics, including how many hands were played, time of session, cash won, average won during each hand and tons more.

Around six months ago, the twenty-three year old online poker pro delivered a heads-up poker challenge open to any player with the loot, time and talent to accept it. Any poker star entering the Full Tilt Poker durrrr challenge has to bet $500,000 against durrrr’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge states that at least 50,000 poker hands need to be played at the same time at 4 or more tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the durrrr challenge, the player who has more cash will take home the pool. In essence if you enter the durrrr challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 poker hands, then you will secure Tom’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by a dollar then he will take home your $500,000.

So far, a number of poker players have consented to play the “durrrr challenge”, including seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, yet, only Patrick Antonius has accepted the Full Tilt Poker Challenge. Until now, both poker pros have completed in a total of 20,647 poker hands out of 50,000, with Tom Dwan leading the count $726,546 total.

Is Bragging in Texas Hold’Em a Good Bluffing Technique?

Posted under Poker & poker tournament & texas hold em

texas hold;em
Certainly the most hated players at the poker table most every time will constantly be the boaster. You have an idea of the one I’m speaking of. He’s the player that pulls up a chair at the no-limit Texas Hold’em table and makes clear you’re mindful that he wants to take all of your no-limit Texas Hold’em chips; parting the poker table with the very same position that he rolled up with. Even if this guy loses, he has the idea that he is the finest no limit Texas Hold’em poker player hands down.

While the greater part poker players would prefer to avoid rivals of this class, there are other players who may say that show-boating might have its rewards. So, the doubt you may have is: Is there really a clever no-limit Texas Hold’em bragger or devious poker boaster? Shooting off their mouths about how good you are in no-limit Texas Hold’em is essentially just like affirming: “I’m the best no limit Texas Hold’em poker player on the planet, always remember to play the best you can while you’re sitting in a poker tournament against me!” Most certainly that is the most terrible vibe to give off playing Texas Hold’em Poker. What’s more, spilling too much information about your poker playing techniques can be damaging to your no limit Texas Hold’em poker game. You unquestionably do not want these people to find out how you play specified poker hands.

Then there are those Texas Hold’em Poker competitors who might exploit bragging as a kind of no-limit Texas Hold’em trick, or bluff. Boasting when you have a certain no-limit Texas Hold’em hand may fool your opponents and confuse them about your no limit Texas Hold’em poker playing method. You will come across people who could consider this approach somewhat sneaky, but it is significant to bear in mind that there are not too many regulations against it in no limit Texas Hold’em poker. Texas Hold’em Poker is all about making the most of what you’re dealt and exploiting it to the limit.

Online Texas Hold’em Special Investigation Show will be featured on TV

Posted under Poker & poker hands & poker tournament

poker scandal
Sunday night the CBS network will show their special program “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This special program was filmed after a 4 month examination into the online poker business and in particular a deceitful scandal concerning the online poker site Absolute Poker.

This Texas Hold’em poker website was investigated after some of the Texas Hold’em players on the page alleged that some person was unjustly winning a great amount of poker chips. Todd Witteles was a crucial witness in this inquiry, according to Witteles; he was losing incredibly large amounts of poker hands to the very same poker player. Witteles says that this man was raising against incredibly good cards, anyone would have presumed he was basically giving his money to the other players, but he was unbelievably winning quite often.

Witteles was correct with his statements, much later it was shown that a player on the inside was able to see any poker player’s poker hole cards. At first look, Absolute Poker said that there were no issues with the page or the poker player. After numerous players showed up with claims, the poker webpage looked deeper into the matter and discovered the cheater.

By Jan. of 2008, the gaming commission discovered what the poker players and the Texas Hold’em room had suspected all along. The investigation proved that, there was a staff member who had hacked the Texas Hold’em poker page’s protection and was competing unlawfully for approximately six weeks. The examination verified that the Texas Hold’em poker page had not gained from the illegal transactions by any means, and was in no way, shape or form engaged in the activities.

These illegal activities are further confirmation that there must be more guidelines regarding Texas Hold’em poker sites. The US government should license and control the internet Texas Hold’em industry to defend these honest clients. These rules would also control the entry to these webpages by kids, which is turning into another fear these days.
