Online Poker Rooms and Casinos Continue to Struggle against the United States Government Crackdown

Posted under Poker

With all the focus by the United States government on cracking down on online poker rooms and casinos, it is not surprising to see the tremendous levels of effort that go into maintaining the market share that these online poker rooms and casinos currently enjoy. By working to bring in more and more players, these types of online poker rooms do their best to generate tremendous levels of income and consistently allow new players to join up, generating tremendous amounts of revenue for the embattled online poker rooms and casinos to take advantage of. With all of the difficulties involved in competing against the United States government and their extremely aggressive crackdown on Internet gaming, these types of online poker rooms and casinos have their work cut out for them as more and more difficulties arise from these types of activities. With the United States government bearing down on the participants and proprietors of these types of online poker rooms and casinos, it is fairly obvious that the players and proprietors of these types of establishments will bury soon have to look elsewhere for their entertainment and wagering fun.

With the ongoing struggle against the United States government, online poker rooms and casinos have been dealt a severe blow in recent months, as the United States government has considered setting up a 2% tax on the online poker players bankroll, including the deposits that are made in these types of online poker rooms and online casinos such as Fulltiltpoker.com. By implementing attacks against the players bankroll specifically, rather than any amount that they actually win or lose, the United States government has signaled its desire to put the status of poker rooms out of business altogether. While it is not obvious at first, the 2% tax on the players bankroll is highly exorbitant, due to the fact that the bankroll itself is not always being wagered. Most players will tell you that wagering 1% up to 2% of your bankroll at any given time is the best strategy for success, as it will keep your bankroll insulated from losses. By taxing 2% of the players bankroll, the United States government is actually taxing up to 100 times the player’s actual earnings. This is staggering to say the least, as this particular math works out to be somewhere around 10,000%. Sounds fair.
